The
Florida Sterling Council is looking for teams to compete in the 2010
Sterling Team Showcase. This
is a unique opportunity for your organization's teams to showcase
their best practice efforts and present how their efforts have
contributed to the success of your organization.
In
an effort to encourage even more participation in the Team Showcase
event, we have revised the process for this year.
The traditional Regional Team Showcases will not be conducted
this year.
The
new Team Showcase process will consist of the following:
1.
By February 28, 2010, teams will electronically submit
to me at the
Sterling
office their 15-page written application.
2.
The applications will be submitted to a panel of judges from
around the state for scoring, based on the Criteria as outlined in the
Team Showcase Criteria and information on the
Sterling
website at http://www.floridasterling.com/showcase-overview.html
and http://www.floridasterling.com/showcase-criteria.html.
3.
The Judges will choose the up to six teams to represent their
organizations at the 2010 Sterling Conference.
Only one team from an organization will be allowed to compete
at the Conference Team Showcase, however, there is no maximum or
minimum number of teams that can be selected from any Sterling Region.
4.
The finalist teams will then be given an opportunity to update
their applications and resubmit them to the
Sterling
office the first week of May. The
Sterling Regional Team Showcase Coordinator will assist teams in their
regions to prepare for the Conference competition.
5.
The Judging process at the Sterling Conference will be the same
as in the past, i.e., the State Panel of Judges will review and score
the finalists applications, conduct the team interviews, then score
each team's presentation at Thursday's Team Showcase.
Note
on the Thursday Team Showcase Presentation:
The score, as determined by the Judges, is based on the
presentation of the team’s work –
not on technology used in the presentation, costumes, theatrics,
stagecraft, or acting. Use
of props is encouraged. Teams
should strive to make the presentation interesting and hold the
attention of the audience; however, the judging is based on: the
team's ability to clearly and succinctly tell its story; support the
story through appropriate charts, graphs, and other aides; and clearly
describe the lessons learned.
6.
The
Florida
Team Showcase Champion will be announced at Friday evening's Awards
Banquet.
Don't
forget the Sterling Conference Storyboard competition.
This is a great opportunity for you and your organization to be
recognized and showcased! It
is an easy way to promote and brag about your most successful best
practice. For more
