Les
Rodriguez is
currently the Director of Program Management, Technical
Communications and Site Manager for Beckman Coulter Inc., at
the Kendall facility in
Miami.
Les
Rodriguez is the former Director of Quality.
His persistent commitment to quality improvement and
out of the box thinking has resulted in increased
productivity, efficiency and effectiveness for the
organization. He
has been instrumental in instilling increased awareness of
quality and regulatory compliance responsibility at Beckman
Coulter. Beckman
Coulter is a medical device manufacturer and adheres to
strict federal and international regulatory requirements.
Failure to comply with quality and regulatory
requirements can have devastating impact on the
organization’s credibility and profitability.
Les
has worked in Quality and Operations related function for
over 23 years. Following
are some of his achievements with emphasis on his activities

Implementation of interactive decision-trees

Center
for the diagnosing and ‘typing’ of incoming calls and
escalation to customer complaints.

Implementation of a statistical validated
tracking and trending process with defined trigger levels
for each symptom code and each product line.

Adoption and procedurization of key Six Sigma
improvement tools for use in other applications.

development center to ensure defects are captured before
the products are commercialized.

field of power supplies.
Design modifications were adopted resulting in
$100,000 annual cost savings and cost avoidance of $3.3
million dollars world-wide.
